My Food & Wine Festival Favorites

It’s hard to believe that in a little less than a week the 22nd Annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will come to an end! Although the festival ran for a record 75 days long, it seems like the months just flew by. This year the festival featured 35 marketplace booths to celebrate Epcot’s 35th birthday! I’m sharing a few of my favorites from the festival.

La Passion Martini Slush

When it comes to this slush, it’s got more going for it than just its looks. Aside from being the most photogenic drink at the festival, it’s also quite delicious! While most attend Food and Wine Festival to enjoy wine flights and beer samples, this is another alcoholic drink option if you’re looking to shake it up! You can find this slush in France and while similar versions of this slush in both orange and citron flavors are available year round, this passion fruit and cranberry flavored slush is only available at Food and Wine Festival. I tried this for the first time in September and loved it so much that I was sure to grab one when I was back in October! It’s definitely a must with the not-so-chilly fall weather you can expect in Orlando.

Sweet Avocado Crema

When it comes to this all I can say is YUM. Being the picky eater that I am, I may not have tried this if I didn’t go with Paris who insisted on ordering it, but I’m sure glad that we did! This delicious treat can be found at Active Eats and along with the sweet avocado crema, you’ll also find strawberries, yellow cake, and tortilla streusel inside. Pro Tip: Make sure to reach all the way to the bottom when taking a spoonful. You’ll want to enjoy all these yummy layers together! If a treat like this could get a picky eater like me to try avocados, it must be good!

Zesty Cheeseburger and Cheddar Cheese Macaroni Handwich

When it comes to food, you can’t go wrong with cheeseburger mac and cheese! This snack can be found at the Craft Beer marketplace booth. The Zesty Cheeseburger and Cheddar Cheese Macaroni Handwich is a great snack for walking around and checking out the other booths throughout the park! If you’ve visited California Adventure, you may recognize the bread cone from the Cozy Cone Motel menu. For those of us who don’t get to visit the west coast that often, this was a fun surprise on the menu! After seeing tons of photos of the delicious bread cones on Instagram, it was nice to try one here at Food and Wine Festival.

T=CC²

One of the new marketplace booths that was added for Epcot’s 35th birthday was the Light Lab. This booth is found near Club Cool inside Innoventions West and features special drinks the “glow” in the dark! While we did try two of the drink options while we were there, the stand out winner was T=CC².  This drink made up of vanilla tonic water and cotton candy is nonalcoholic, so everyone in the family can try it! We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the Light Lab because they really made the drink preparation fun. You start out with a piece of cotton candy in a glass.  Then they proceed to concoct the vanilla tonic water.  Last they pour it into a test tube and then poor it over the cotton candy to mix. Definitely a perfect activity if you’re doing the Food and Wine Festival with kids!

Beer-braised Beef served with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes

This dish was by far my favorite of the Food and Wine Festival this year! Near Morocco in World Showcase at the Belgium marketplace booth, you’ll find this mouthwatering meal. The beef, gravy, and mashed potatoes came together to create a delicious and filling sampler that you won’t want to miss! It really hit the spot as a late lunch in the parks, while still leaving room to try other treats. If you love all things pot roast, beef, and mashed potatoes, you’ll need to try this tasting for sure! My fellow Disney Instagrammers all agree that this was the star of the show this year at Food and Wine Festival. Hoping to see it available for future years to come!

Food and Wine Festival is an experience that should be on everyone’s Disney bucket list! Aside from great food and alcohol tastings, there’s also an amazing atmosphere to you’ll just want to be a part of. Foodies and picky eaters alike are bound to find something they’ll both enjoy, especially as this festival continues to grow each year! As Food and Wine Festival comes to an end, I can’t help but get excited for Flower and Garden Festival in just a few short months. Bring on the Frushi and Violet Lemonade!

    All of this looks incredible! I’m hopefully going to DisneySea in Japan next year and one thing I’m most excited for is the amazing food, haha. I reckon I’d love the mango slush because mango is one of my favourite flavours. I also loooove the idea of cheeseburger mac & cheese, must try that one day! x
