I left a piece of my heart at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort! Between the stately mansion buildings and beautiful courtyards, there was southern beauty all around.
I had the chance to stay a few nights in one of the Royal Rooms at the resort and it was one of my favorite Disney resort memories to date. Paris and I had such a blast, we didn’t ever want to leave!
I have to say it’s pretty cool to know that my home state inspired not one, but two Walt Disney World resorts! Growing up about 30 minutes from New Orleans, I really appreciated all the little details to be found around the Port Orleans property.
Of all the areas at Port Orleans Riverside, I think Magnolia Bend was my favorite! The hotel buildings resembled stately mansions you could find in the Garden District back home, complete with beautiful columns and grand staircases.
No detail was spared and I just love that! The horse drawn carriage rides, amazing landscaping, and scenic riverboats all resemble the famous city I love.
It’s pretty unique to feel like you’re right back at home when you’re hundreds of miles away! I’m thankful everyday for Disney’s attention to detail.
If you ever get the chance to visit this gorgeous resort — you’ve got to go! It’s a hidden gem on Disney property and the perfect escape from the craziness of a Disney park day.
With over 25 Disney resorts to choose from and the goal of experiencing them all, I’ll have to fight my temptations to stay at this resort again and again until I knock a few more resorts off my list! Although I have plenty more resorts to see, it’s good to know that this little piece of home is always there when I want to do some resort hopping!
