Top Tips To Keep Your Phone Charged In The Disney Parks

When visiting Walt Disney World, having access to your phone is essential! From accessing Dining and FastPass+ Reservations on the My Disney Experience app to snapping a quick castle shot, the last thing you’ll want to worry about is a low battery notification. Looking for tips to keep your phone charged all day long? We’ve got you covered!

Take Advantage of Charging Stations and Outlets

Disney is great about adding services to their parks that will benefit their guests, and they have really stepped it up with outlets and charging stations! Years ago, your best bet for charging your phone in the parks was hoping to find a table near an outlet when you sat down to eat at a restaurant. Now Disney has created discreet charging stations and other areas devoted to keeping your device alive for the day. One of the best charging stations at Walt Disney World is right in Fantasyland near the Tangled Restrooms. Subtle log-shaped seating areas double as charging stations! In addition to this valuable charging station, you’ll find air conditioned spots like Innoventions with open outlets available throughout the halls. When you’re desperate to charge up your phone, just keep your eyes peeled and you’re sure to spot a free outlet!

Invest In A Portable Charger

Portable chargers are so valuable when it comes to planning for a long park day. Nothing is better than peace of mind that you’ve got a charger on hand anytime you need it! These chargers can be purchased before your trip from most stores that sell tech gear for anywhere from $5-$20. If you purchase a cheaper portable charger, definitely grab a second one! Depending on their price, some chargers aren’t nearly as effective, and once the charger battery drains you’re out of luck for the day.

Disney also offers a portable charger option for guests to purchase called a FuelRod. A FuelRod can be purchased in the parks for $30. While this price seems high at first, your FuelRod is the gift that keeps on giving, with over 35 FuelRod replacement stations found throughout Disney property! Unlike other portable chargers you may bring from home, when your FuelRod battery runs low you can just swap it out with a fully charged one at any FuelRod Station. These stations span across all four theme parks, both water parks, Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports and over fifteen of Disney’s Resorts, so a fully charged FuelRod is never far away!

Put Your Phone On Low Battery Mode

If your mobile device of choice is an iPhone, this tech hack can really help you save some battery life on a long park day! Go under your “Settings,” and the third section you’ll find is “Battery.” Enable “Low Battery Mode” on your device by sliding the bar to green. Once in Low Battery Mode, your phone undergoes a few subtle changes that will help your battery to last longer. Some examples of changes are lowering screen brightness and disabling background refresh – two things you probably wouldn’t even notice while having fun in the parks! What about Android phones? While Androids don’t have a Low Battery Mode, there is a Battery Saver app available for download that helps Android users to cut down on battery usage. Whether you use a Low Battery Mode or a Battery Saver app, any way you cut down on unnecessary battery usage on a Disney day will be beneficial in the long run!
