How To Create Your Very Own Walt Disney World Commemorative Brick

Decades ago Walt Disney Worldoffered guests the opportunity to sponsor their own hexagonal brick on property. These bricks can be found along the walkways to Magic Kingdom and at the Transportation and Ticket Center. The Walk Around The World bricks were a way for guests to “leave their mark” at Walt Disney World, often engraved with family names with dates as far back as the 1990’s. The last of these bricks were laid in the early 2001’s with the promise that they would be displayed until 2011.

As Walt Disney World continues to transform and improve the arrival experience for guests of the Magic Kingdom, the Walk Around The World bricks are set to be removed over the next few months. Since these bricks aren’t designed to be individually removed, guests who purchased one won’t unfortunately be able to take theirs back home as a souvenir. Instead, Walt Disney World is offering guests a different alternative for a souvenir! Guests who sponsored a brick will be able to purchase a commemorative version from now until Saturday, August 31, 2019 or while supplies last.

There are two ways to acquire a commemorative brick if you sponsored a Walk Around the World brick in years past

The first way is by visiting in person. Guests can stop into City Hall at the Magic Kingdom or Guest Relations in Disney Springs to verify their existing brick by sharing the hometown and name of the guest who sponsored the brick. Once verified, guests will be given a one-time voucher to use by or before Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in Magic Kingdom or the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs. This voucher gives guests the chance to by one commemorative 6’ brick at the cheaper price of $10.

Not able to make it to Walt Disney World before Saturday, August 31. 2019 to claim yours? This second option is for you! Guests who have previously purchased a Walk Around the World commemorative brick can call 407-828-2701 or email guest.services@disneyworld.com stating the hometown and name of the guest who sponsored the brick in the past. From there you’ll receive a special code to use by or before Saturday, August 31, 2019 on the ShopDisney website to purchase your commemorative brick for the same $10 price. If guests call or email to claim their brick, this code can only be used on the ShopDisney website and won’t be able to be redeemed in person.

Didn’t Originally Purchase A Brick? You Can Still Create Your Own Now!

Guests who weren’t able to participate in the original Walk Around the World commemorative brick program still have a chance to purchase a personalized souvenir brick if they would like. These brick prices are starting at $29.99 for the 6” souvenir brick and include exciting customization options for guests including art style, personalized names or occasions, and a personalized date.

Occasions can vary from Disney Vacation Club anniversaries to wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations, family reunions, and more! Once you’ve added all of your custom touches, you’ll confirm your order and take the receipt to the nearest register for checkout.

Commemorative brick sizes vary starting at 6” bricks for $29.99, 8” bricks for $49.99, and eventually an ornament option for $24.99. All bricks can be purchased at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in Magic Kingdom or at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs. Bricks will then be shipped to your home as the perfect Walt Disney World souvenir that you can always display!
