Take the Leap and Become a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder

Since childhood when I got my first annual pass to Walt Disney World, I’ve strived to keep an annual pass for life! After all… WDW Annual Pass = More Trips To See The Mouse! A lot of people wonder why I make the investment, but the answer is simple. With so many benefits and how often I plan to visit annually, it PAYS to be an Annual Passholder. Here’s a few reasons why it may be the right choice for you too!

Complimentary MagicBands

When visiting Walt Disney World, my family usually stays off grounds, so we don’t get MagicBands with our tickets automatically. By being Annual Passholders, we are able to receive a complimentary MagicBand which eliminates an extra cost! Also, they finally offer purple as a color so all is well.

Passholder Entrances

This is a new plus that was recently added for Annual Passholders. Tired of waiting in line behind the newbies? No worries! Each of the parks at the Walt Disney World resort has marked entrances exclusively for Annual Passholders.  This is a real benefit on busy park days! Plus it doesn’t hurt to feel like a VIP, right?

Disney Photopass Downloads

This perk is a game changer in my opinion! In the past, I visited Disney six times in one year. During that time, I had to purchase Memory Maker multiple times because it used to only have a two-week lifespan. I’m personally so grateful that I’ll have Photopass photos from my full year of magical memories! If you aren’t using Memory Maker on your Disney trip, you should be. (Learn why here.)

All the Discounts

When it comes to Disney, every dollar counts! The discounts offered to Annual Passholders are pretty amazing, so if you’re thinking about becoming one this may be a motivating factor. First of all, Annual Passholders receive 20% off at most Disney shops! This includes Disney Springs. Believe it or not, 20% can turn into some major cash when you’re shopping at Disney! Pro Tip: Be sure to ask for the discount, not all Cast Members remember to ask  if you’re an Annual Passholder.

For the 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, Annual Passholders are also offered 20% off of food and nonalcoholic beverages at 45 select restaurants across the Walt Disney World resort! This special offer is only available through September 30, 2017, so plan accordingly.

Lastly, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders receive discounts on Walt Disney World resorts! The percentages change based on the time of the year, but I’ve always found the deal to be great!

While becoming an Annual Passholder of Walt Disney World may not be for everyone, it can be a huge benefit for quite a few Disney lovers. If you’re looking to become an Annual Passholder, be sure to get your  own here. With so many amazing perks offered to Annual Passholders this year, I’m excited to see what will be offered to APs for years to come!

It doesn’t make sense for me to be a pass holder since I don’t live near Anaheim or Orlando BUT I have a good friend who lives in L.A. who has been a pass holder for years. She goes to Disney all the time and I swear the pass must pay off for itself in like a month for her (:

I’m SO glad I upgraded my Park Hopper to an Annual Pass on our trip last November! I have gotten so much value and enjoyment out of it. If I could just remember to use the dining discount all of the time I’d save even more. Going again in September for Food & Wine!

If I lived anywhere near WDW I’d definitely take advantage of becoming a pass-holder. I really love that pic of you with the mouse ears in front of the castle. Classic Disney πŸ™‚

This was my first year being a pass holder! My boyfriend’s been one his whole life and he finally got me hooked. Our pass paid itself in less than a month, we go sometimes twice a week! (We live 30 minutes from Orlando) A WDW annual pass is one of the best investments I’ve ever made! ❀️

Kait! Thank you so much for this!!! I wish I lived at Florida so I can be a pass holder. I live too far so being a pass holder is not possible. At my last trip I noticed the entrace line for pass holders. Believe me or not, a few days back I was thinking: What if I’m a pass holder what happens to Memory maker?
