Three New Ways To Celebrate Earth Day with Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Earth Day (and Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 23rd Anniversary) is only three days away, and Disney is still offering fun, new ways for guests to celebrate! I’ve already shared some of the Earth Month activities, eats, merchandise, and more in two blogs. You can check out my first Earth Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom here. Take a look at the updated treats & sips to guide Earth Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom here!

Disney Parks Blog has recently announced a few new Disney’s Animal Kingdom offerings that I wanted to share before Earth Day, April 22, 2021, arrives.

My Disney Experience App

My Disney Experience App offers a few ways for users to dive even deeper into Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Earth Day this year! With programs like Sounds of the Wild, Wild Sights, and Disney Parks Stories, there’s plenty for My Disney Experience App users to explore whether they’re on property or sitting at home.

Sounds of the Wild

Do you think you can guess the animals of Disney’s Animal Kingdom with just your ears? Sounds of the Wild put your ears to the test with Easy, Medium, and Difficult challenges — right on the My Disney Experience app! There are currently three games, but I’m sure My Disney Experience App will add more for users to test their knowledge in time.

Wild Sights

Get a closer look at Disney’s Animal Kingdom residents through the My Disney Experience series Wild Sights. Each episode features a different species. From Zebras and African Elephants to Crocodiles and Western Lowland Gorillas, you may learn something new about your favorite animal from this fun mini-series! There’s even an episode on Nigerian Dwarf Goats for Earth Day.

Disney Parks Stories

In the Disney Parks Stories section of the My Disney Experience App, you’ll find videos and articles about the Disney Parks. Some articles you may not see on the actual Disney Parks Blog can be found here! For example, they also wrote up a piece celebrating Expedition Everest’s 15th anniversary. Check back in this section from time to time to see what extra Disney Parks info you can learn!

Play Disney Parks App

The Play, Disney Parks App, launched back in 2018 around the time of Toy Story Land’s grand opening. This app prides itself on giving guests additional experiences through the power of Bluetooth and location services on your smartphone. Over time, Play Disney Parks has created games, trivia challenges, playlists, and more for each of the United States Disney Parks.

If you’re interested in Play Disney Parks’ Disney’s Animal Kingdom offerings, you’ll be excited to find four games and, soon, a special trivia challenge just for Earth Day. While some experiences like “The ACE Guide to Pandora: Valley of Mo’ara Edition” require you to be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to participate, other experiences can be accessed from anywhere! All three of the “Disney’s Animal Kingdom Animal Expeditions” can be accessed from your home, the parks, or on the go.

Tiny World Magic Shot

Today Disney Parks Blog announced a new PhotoPass shot for guests of Disney’s Animal Kingdom to experience! This new photo opportunity is a 360-degree capture, offering a new, fantastic perspective for memory making. Starting today, this new PhotoPass Tiny World Magic Shot is available daily from 9 AM until 3 PM  near the exit of It’s Tough to be a Bug! on the Tree of Life Trails.

Since this Magic Shot takes place outdoors, guests can remove their masks for this photo as long as they remain stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing. Tiny World Magic Shots are just one of many types of Disney PhotoPass captures available at the Most Magical Place on Earth! With the Disney PhotoPass service, you can capture photos of thirteen of Walt Disney World’s attractions at various PhotoPass spots around the four theme parks and Disney PhotoPass Studios like the one at Disney Springs.

If you haven’t purchased Memory Maker for your upcoming Disney vacation, now is the time! This service is the best way to get access to all of your Disney PhotoPass photos from your vacation in one place. With this service, you’ll be able to download your PhotoPass shots in seconds — sharing them while you’re waiting in line for your next attraction!

Harambe Market at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 23rd anniversary is this Thursday, so get excited with these three new ways to celebrate! I’m personally excited to take advantage of this new Tiny World Magic Shot in just a few weeks when I’m back in May. For now, I’ll just be brushing up on my Disney Parks trivia on the Play Disney Parks App!

I’ll be sharing a trip back in time to Opening Day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Earth Day, so stay tuned for that. Once it’s published, I’ll link it here!
