Our First Family Christmas Photo Shoot
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right, it’s Christmas card season! A chance to get your family together, all dressed up and make a record of where you all were during that year in your life.
I don’t know about you, but I used to love taking Christmas card photos as a kid! Now that I’m older, I’m so glad that my parents had us take those photos. It’s fun to look back on our matching outfits and transport back to that year of my life!
It’s amazing to realize how far Christmas photo shoots have come since I was a child. No more waiting for your camera’s film to develop, now a days we can see our pictures almost instantly depending on if a photographer was used or not! What a time to be alive.
As I’ve mentioned before, Nick and I are very big on tradition. So as a family of three, we took Christmas card photos this year! Since this was our first Christmas as the Killebrews, it was very important to us that we made these photos happen! 2016 has been a big year in our lives so why not document it with a Christmas card?
This is only our first year of marriage and we have already purchased our first home and adopted the sweetest furbaby in the world! I can’t wait to see where we are at this time next year. Only time will tell!
I’m so thankful for the amazing Lizzie of Live Fabuliz for taking these photos for us! Not only did she have be a human photographer, but a pet photographer as well! Little miss Roux does not have the best attention span, so it was very entertaining to see all of the tricks Lizzie had up her sleeve to get her attention. Let me tell you, it definitely adds some variables when you’ve got a five month old puppy involved! I will always cherish the funny memories we made this weekend.
Well, our Christmas cards have been ordered and should be here by the weekend. I am so pumped to send them out to our family and friends!
Did you send out Christmas cards this year?

December 14, 2016 at 12:35 amI just got married this year too, and honestly, Christmas cards intimidated me. My family has always done them, but I felt awkward about them for just two people. I believe we’ll be sending some after reading this! Thank you for the boost! ❤️

December 14, 2016 at 6:43 amI am a slacker – we never sent cards this year. We had a vacation over Thanksgiving week and then family was staying with us for the 2 weeks following that so I never got around to it.

December 14, 2016 at 10:02 amGreat pics! I gave up on family Christmas photo shoots when the kids were young. Our tradition is to take a pic of each of us in a Santa hat and then put the individual pictures together into a collage. (Probably because we could only afford one hat at the time! Now we have enough for everyone.)

December 14, 2016 at 12:15 pmThis is my first Christmas living out and about in my own home and I love the look of this Christmas tradition. I have to admit, I have never taken photos for Christmas cards but we always used to send out just normal cards. I actually have a pile that I need to send today but I keep putting it off. Better do it before I miss the deadline. Love your family photos too, they look lovely (and your dog is super cute too)

December 14, 2016 at 4:03 pmYou are so right about being transported back in time. I have family members that have pictures that I had even forgotten about. We definitely should make time every year to document our time in space with a Christmas picture. Great post!

December 15, 2016 at 2:55 pmThese are fabulous photos! My family has never had photo shoots done, just never in the budget. I hope to soon… most are just candid shots next to our Christmas tree with someone looking off in a different direction, making goofy faces… or sneezing. 🙂

December 15, 2016 at 4:18 pmWe all love our Christmas photos. It brings back so many memories, especially when the kids were still young and photos with Santa Claus at the mall were the funniest. It is so nice to see their before and after Christmas photos – from when they were kids to now that they are adults with their own kids!
