Disney Eats: Coral Reef
The older I get the more I consider Epcot to be my home park. One of my favorite things about Epcot is all of the magic it has hidden in plain sight. One example of this magic is the delicious restaurant Coral Reef!
The Coral Reef is table service restaurant located inside the same pavilion as The Seas with Nemo and Friends. It’s truly amazing how much beauty is packed into one pavilion! Between a restaurant, two attractions, and tons of other activities related to sea life, I can easily spend hours in there.
One major perk of the Coral Reef is that it’s particularly easy to get reservations! Since most seem to overlook it, I like to make sure this reservation is on my list for most trips. If you love those breathtaking views of the floor to ceiling tanks in the Seas Pavilion, you’ll be excited to know that they are the starfish of the show in this restaurant!
Coral Reef offers specialty seafood dishes as well as other entree options. Whether you’re in the mood for Mahi Mahi or a New York strip steak, this restaurant has got you covered! You’ll also find a great menu of specialty drinks to explore like The Abyss, Coral ‘Rita, and Captain’s Rum Runner.
Recently Coral Reef has started offering a three course meal for $45 per person which includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. For an extra fee of $22 specialty beer and wine pairings can be added to your meal. Since we’re currently in Food and Wine Festival season this promotion may only be through the end of the festival in November, but I’m hoping it will stay!
On our recent trip my family experienced the three course meal and loved it! My brother and I enjoyed Braised Short Rib with Whipped Potatoes and my mom had Seared Mahi Mahi with Toasted Coconut Rice, Jerk Seasonings, Avocado Crema, and Mango-Shrimp Salsa. Needless to say, there was nothing left on our plates!
After our entrees we each enjoyed our own desserts. Our servers surprised me with my favorite dessert from the restaurant, the Turtle Cheesecake. My brother tried the Chocolate Wave and my mother tried the Key Lime Tart.
Aside from the amazing food and atmosphere, the service was also outstanding! Although this was not my first time at the Coral Reef, it was the first time for my family and they have fallen in love with it. I know we will be making reservations here when we visit Epcot for years to come!
If you’re looking to treat your family to a sit down meal in the parks instead of a sandwich, or trying to find another table service restaurant for your Dining Plan, the Coral Reef is your restaurant. To get a better idea of some of the other foods they offer, check out their menu here!
Walt Disney World is full of so many amazing experiences both obvious and hidden. Don’t be afraid to find those experiences that require a little searching; they are often the most rewarding!
