Disney Must Do: Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival

Spring is finally here! When I think of Spring, I think of Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot in Walt Disney World! Although Flower and Garden Festival has been going on since the beginning of the month, I figured what better time to talk about it then on the First Day of Spring!
If you’re headed to Walt Disney World between now and May 29, 2017, you’ve got to check out the International Flower and Garden Festival! Here’s a few reasons why you need to experience Flower and Garden Festival.

The Beauty of the Gardens

It’s no secret that Disney Parks have amazing landscaping year round, but for Flower and Garden Festival, I feel that they bring out the best of the best! Everywhere you turn there are topiaries and gardens dedicated to specific Disney characters based on location! For example, if you’re in Future World, look for Figment near Spaceship Earth. You’ll also find Buzz Lightyear right outside of Mission Space! The same is true when it comes to the World Showcase. Each country has character representation by topiaries! In Norway, you’ll find Elsa and Anna. In France, look for Belle and the Beast! It’s truly spectacular to see the magic of the details in each topiary. From the textures, to the colors and of course the shapes and sizes, each garden is truly a work of art!

The Extra Activities

Epcot is all about experiencing new things and this concept shines for Flower and Garden Festival! Aside from the existing attractions in the park, additional booths and activities are available during the festival for you and your family to take advantage of. Have you ever wanted to visit a butterfly garden? You can at Flower and Garden Festival! In Future World you can have the chance to walk through a butterfly garden and learn all about these amazing creatures. If you’re more into shopping, no problem! Epcot has stands set up around the World Showcase for guests to browse and purchase while visiting the park! They even have nightly concerts on the weekends called Garden Rocks.

The Adventurous Foods

In a similar way of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, the Flower and Garden Festival offers special foods and pop up restaurants throughout the World Showcase! Just grab your Garden Passport, and take your taste buds on a trip around the world! Some Flower and Garden Festival favorites include Frushi and Violet Lemonade, but don’t stop there! There’s tons to taste while you’re in Epcot. Fun Fact: Dole Whip is usually only available in Magic Kingdom, The Polynesian, and Animal Kingdom while at Walt Disney World, but for the Festival you can find Dole Whip in Epcot! Just head on over the Pineapple Promenade and get your pineapple fix! Feeling adventurous? Try it with coconut rum! You’ll love it!

So if you find yourself in sunny, Orlando, Florida this spring make sure to visit Epcot! There’s tons to see and do at the Flower and Garden Festival, but it only lasts until May 29, 2017. So don’t miss your chance to try Violet Lemonade!
