Wedding Ideas for the Disney Obsessed
Disney Lovers are a different kind of breed. We like to add a little Disney magic to everything we do, and our wedding day is no exception! While not all of us may get married in the Happiest Place on Earth, there are still ways to add some pixie dust to the happiest day of your life! Looking for some ways to bring Disney with you to your wedding day? I’ve got you covered!
Flowers & Colors
Disney movies can inspire so many when it comes to wedding planning. We all have our favorite movies and characters, so it’s fun to add aspects of those favorites to our wedding! For me, Rapunzel is my absolute favorite and so she was some inspiration for wedding details. My flowers had hints of lavender and peach which represent the colors from Tangled.
Music Choices
A song is a great way to share your love of Disney in a big way! A wedding day is full of music between the ceremony and reception, so this is a perfect avenue to add some disney magic. For our wedding, following the Tangled theme, I walked down the aisle to I See The Light. The song was instrumental, so it was a perfect, subtle touch for those who had seen the movie, and everyone who hadn’t just thought it was a pretty song! Another great place for Disney music is at a reception. Do you have a special song? Make it your first dance! Want a fun bridal party song? You can’t go wrong with Disney! Your DJ or band should accept requests so be sure to add your Disney favorites to your list! At the end of our wedding, our reception venue played A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes as everyone was exiting the reception.
Reception Decorations
Instead of sticking with strictly flowers for decorations at your reception, think outside the box! For our wedding, we added our matching Mickey hats to our table decorations. These were the hats that we got made in Walt Disney World on the day of our engagement, so we thought it would be a perfect touch for our wedding day! Another special, custom piece that we used for decoration was our “Best Day Ever” sign that my bridesmaids made for my Tangled bridal shower! We got so many compliments on this sign, and it’s still out on display at our house.
Guest Books & Favors
One of the most creative ways to add a little Disney to your wedding day is through your guest book or your favors. These two items are something that will stand out in your guests’ minds even after the big day! Etsy and other creative websites make it so easy to make these Disney dreams a reality! Nick and I were able to get our custom guest book on Etsy, after shopping many guest book options.
So when it comes time to plan your special day, don’t forget to add a little sparkle to the details. Be true to yourself and remember that this is YOUR day! Make sure it’s your true happily ever after.
