A Stay At The Disneyland Hotel
Growing up in the Southeast my family always traveled to Walt Disney World as our “home park.” The idea of making it to Disneyland in Anaheim, California always seemed out of reach or far off, but in 2016 I finally got to visit Walt’s original Magic Kingdom! Nick and I spent the last two days of our honeymoon there, and even in such a short time I fell in love with it.
Aside from the obvious history of Walt’s first park, I loved being able to compare my home park to the east coast! The attractions, theming, and size all vary between the coasts, making it fun to visit each. When our honeymoon ended, we left thinking we wouldn’t make it back there for at least 10 years. We were wrong! This August, only three years later, we made it back to Anaheim for the D23 Expo. I was so excited to check off some more Disneyland firsts so soon! Since we stayed at Paradise Pier for our honeymoon, we wanted to stay at the other resorts on grounds for at least one night this trip.
A stay at the Disneyland Hotel has been a dream of mine since I first found out the resort existed! The rooms are so dreamy, the pool with monorail waterslides is fun, and it’s so close to the parks. Nick and I spent our last night in Anaheim staying at the Disneyland Hotel, and we both agree its our new favorite Disneyland Resort!
The Disneyland Hotel has three themed towers, and we stayed in the Frontier Tower for our reservation. The other two towers are the Adventure Tower and the Fantasy Tower! As you may have already guessed, each tower is themed after one of the lands in Disneyland Park. Our tower featured a pioneer Mickey landscaping feature, a diorama of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and great views of the pool!
The other towers were themed to their lands as well, which made exploring the resort even more fun for us!
Everything about this room is dreamy. From the “A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes” pillows to the grand Sleeping Beauty castle headboard, you’ll truly feel like you’re experiencing the royal treatment!
There are even Hidden Mickeys in the carpet! I wanted to take in every detail while we were there. Our room featured one of my favorite photos of Walt! The iconic image of him walking through Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Disneyland Hotel is also home to Steakhouse 55, Goofy’s Kitchen, and the famous Trader Sam’s! Although we didn’t make it inside of Trader Sam’s on this trip, we loved grabbing a bite on the outside terrace. They offer great food and drinks, and you can grab a dole whip whenever you want!
After we checked out of our room, I made time to explore the lobby before we left. I’m so glad I did because they had an entire wall of pictures worth viewing! Images of Walt, the attractions, celebrities visiting Disneyland, and more. It’s really cool to look back on these special moments in the park’s history.
The Disneyland Resorts are much pricier in comparison to Walt Disney World’s since there are only three, but if you can swing even one night I highly suggest it! While we spent the majority of our trip off grounds, we did enjoy staying one night at the Disneyland Hotel. It was the perfect end to our second visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
