Disneyland Reopening On April 30, 2021
Disneyland closed its gates to guests over a year ago. Walt’s original vacation destination has been welcoming guests since 1955, and even celebrated its 65th anniversary on July 17, 2020. Before COVID-19, Disneyland Resort had only closed four days.
After months and months of waiting, Disney Parks Blog has officially announced Disneyland’s reopening! Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will begin welcoming guests back on April 30, 2021. (With limited capacity of course.)
To comply with government requirements, theme park capacity at Disneyland Resort will be significantly limited and cast members will promote physical distancing. Similar to Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will be implementing a new theme park reservation system.
With this theme park reservation system, both a park reservation and valid admission to the same park on the same date will be required for guests ages 3 and older. For now only California residents can visit Disneyland resort with the current state guidelines. Theme park reservations are subject to availability and are very limited.
Stay in the Middle of the Magic
Guests will have the opportunity to stay at the Hotels of Disneyland Resort again very soon. With the announcement of Disneyland reopening, guests will be excited to know that the resorts they love are reopening too! Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa reopens with limited capacity on April 29, 2021. Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa reopen later that weekend on May 2, 2021. No reopening dates have been announced for Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel or the Disneyland Hotel just yet.
The Happiest Place on Earth is opening its gates again, but the health and well-being of guests and cast members are still Disney’s top priority. Disneyland Resort reopened Downtown Disney District with enhanced safety measures, and the same can be expected for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland.com is the best place to keep up to date with Disneyland reopening information. It’s important to acknowledge that certain parks, hotels, restaurants, experiences, and attractions will be unavailable or modified as Disneyland Resort reopens!
Disneyland will always hold a special place in my heart. Nick and I traveled there for our honeymoon in 2016 and most recently in 2019 for the D23 Expo! As things start to reopen again, I hope to eventually make my way back to California and experience my Disneyland and Disney California Adventure favorites.
