A Dream That You Wish Will Come True
“No Matter How Your Heart is Grieving,
If You Keep On Believing,
A Dream That You Wish Will Come True”
On this day in 1950, Disney’s Cinderella released in theaters. That means one of my favorite Disney princesses has been gracing us with her presence for almost 70 years! In honor of the film’s anniversary and a few recent gifts I got for Christmas (thanks Nick), I wanted to celebrate with a simple Disneybound inspired by a scene from the Disney Classic.
When Cinderella finds out about the ball, she and her small but mighty animal friends work to make a beautiful pink dress! When I found this scallop skirt, the color reminded me of one of the shades of pink from the dress. I decided to add a touch of teal with the neckerchief to represent the beads that Cinderella was wearing before Drizella decided to snatch them!
Although this outfit ends up getting destroyed, as a kid I always enjoyed watching the mice and birds creating this pink beauty for Cinderella. Until Tangled and The Princess and the Frog were created, Cinderella was always my favorite princess! I loved the songs, the movie, and of course her iconic castle that can be found at my happy place.
This year for Christmas, Nick surprised me with quite a few Disney-inspired gifts! My favorite was this Dooney & Bourke Tote that features classic Mickey hats inspired by each of Disney’s princesses. I love that each hat adds a few subtle touches that give away who is represented. Since I don’t live near the parks, this tote is a fun way to wear some Disney magical in everyday life!
My second surprise was a pair of these rose gold Kate Spade Keds! I’ve been eyeing them for years and I love wearing them around when I can. I always get compliments on them and I thought they would be perfect for this Disneybound as their first debut!
Outfit Details:
White Scoop Neck Tee | Teal Bandana (similar here) | Scallop Skirt (similar here) | Rose Gold Kate Spade Keds | I Am Princess Dooney & Bourke Tote (currently sold out)
I’m not sure if it’s her castle, her hair, or her signature shade of blue, but Cinderella always has and always will hold a special place in my heart. I can’t to celebrate her 70th anniversary this time next year!
