My Fastpass+ Picks: Epcot
I’m back at it again with the Fastpass+! We’ve already covered Magic Kingdom, so It’s time to move on the second Walt Disney World resort — Epcot.
When it comes to Fastpass+ reservations and their rules, no two parks are alike! While in Magic Kingdom you’re able to choose any three Fastpass+ attractions, Epcot runs on a different system. In an effort to better disperse the traffic throughout the park, Epcot‘s Fastpass+ reservations are booked based on a tier system. When booking your Fastpass+, you’ll choose one attraction from Tier 1 and two from Tier 2.
In Tier 1, you’ll find more popular attractions: Frozen Ever After, Test Track, Soarin’, and IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
In Tier 2, you’ll find less popular attractions: Epcot Character Spot, Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Turtle Talk with Crush.
Now that you know the scoop, here’s my top picks for Fastpass+ in Epcot!
Tier 1 Picks
Soarin’
When you ask someone what their favorite ride is in Epcot, nine times out of ten they’re going to say Soarin’! If you’ve never visited Epcot before, this attraction should be at the top of your list. It’s the perfect example of Walt Disney’s motto to “Keep Moving Forward” in my opinion, especially with the the recent update to the film that now features destinations around the world!
Pro Tip: If you’ve got kiddos in the family, you’ll probably want to chose Frozen Ever After as your Tier 1 Fastpass+. No worries! Soarin’ is my goto attraction for rope drop. Make the effort and get to the park early! How cool is it to say you were one of the first few people on the ride that day?
Test Track
If you’re a thrill seeker, this ride is for you! Did you know this is the fastest attraction on the Walt Disney World property? It reaches the top speed of 65 MPH, which is faster than even Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster! Not to mention that with the recent update of this attraction, you’re now able to design your own vehicle for the ride! You can see how your vehicle stacks up compared to others in the car.
Pro Tip: If you don’t mind riding alone, take advantage of the Single Rider line! You can wait in line with your party, but once it’s time to ride you will be separated from them. If this isn’t a big problem for you, then say hello to the quickest way to get through the Test Track line!
Tier 2 Picks
Living With The Land
Ever wondered where the delicious produce you enjoy in the Disney parks comes from? Look no further, the answer is Living with the Land! Nestled to the right downstairs in the Land pavilion, you can find one of Epcot‘s hidden gems. Living with the Land has always been one of my favorites in Epcot and the amazing greenhouses are why! It’s a cool feeling to get a sort of behind the scenes glimpse into the food side of Disney Parks. I mean how many attractions allow you to learn about innovative techniques like Hydroponics while looking for Hidden Mickeys in the living laboratory full of produce?
Pro Tip: If you’re a Disney Parks nerd like me or are just curious to learn even more about Living with the Land and its greenhouse, you can sign up for the Behind the Seeds Tour! For only $25 you can enjoy a one hour tour of the four greenhouses and enjoy some pretty unique experiences.
The Seas With Nemo & Friends
Although the Land Pavilion is my favorite, the Seas Pavilion is definitely a close second! This Fastpass+ reservation is great for any age group. Grab a clam shell and sit back and relax as you embark on a journey through some of your favorite scenes from Finding Nemo! While this ride is colorful and lots of fun, my favorite part is what is waiting for you at the end of the ride. In the last scene of the attraction, you’ll see the characters from Finding Nemo hanging out along side real fish in the attraction’s 5.7 million gallon Caribbean Coral Reef aquarium! I love that this little glimpse helps to peak the interest of guests to explore the rest of the pavilion.
Pro Tip: Don’t just walk straight to the exit after you get off the attraction. Head upstairs to watch the manatees feed on lettuce! Get lost in the beauty of the pavilion’s massive aquarium. Engage with your favorite sea turtle in Turtle Talk with Crush! Making time to stop and watch the fish will lead to some pretty cool experiences.
Although I was not initially a fan of the two tier system, I understand the purpose and appreciate the excuse to slow down a little in a busy place like Walt Disney World. Tier 2 attractions may not have the longest standby times, but I’ve been on trips where there was a randomly long line for a normally low key attraction and I was so thankful to have a Fastpass+ reservation for it! There are several options to choose for Fastpass+ choices, but what I love about this Fastpass+ strategy is that you can see what Future World has to offer early on in the day, and then head over to the World Showcase and devote your time to that. Otherwise if you choose a World Showcase Fastpass+ selection, such as Frozen Ever After, you’ll have to zig zag your way back to the front of the park for your other Fastpass+ reservations! (I like to cut back on extra walking any chance I can.)
Which attractions are your Fastpass+ go to’s for Epcot?

December 5, 2017 at 3:28 pmI’ve been to Disney and Universal Studios but I have yet to make it to Epcot! This makes me really want to go though. We got the FastPass for Universal and even though you can’t use it for every ride, it’s SO worth the extra money for the time you save – especially if you’re only going for one day or so!

December 6, 2017 at 7:00 pmI LOVE Epcot! I’ve always had a soft spot for Living With The Land. I’ve done the Behind the Seeds tour a few times and it’s so amazing! Definitely awesome to get to walk around the green house and learn more about the plants and all the cool scientific advancements they’re making!

December 19, 2017 at 12:36 pmYou’ll love it! We did it once when me and my sisters were pretty young and then again a couple years ago. When we were little, the tour was the first time my younger sister had ever tried cucumber and now years later it’s her fav veggie, so we’ve got special memories on that tour haha
