Five Must-Do Experiences at Walt Disney World This Holiday Season

Any day at Disney is a great day but visiting for the holiday season is pure magic! Starting on Nov. 1 each year Walt Disney World begins to transform for Christmas, offering special treats, decorations and experiences you can’t find any place else. There are so many things to see and do around the Most Magical Place on Earth this time of year, but here are five must-dos that you won’t want to miss!

Flurry of Fun in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While most think of Main Street U.S.A. when it comes to Disney’s Holiday decorations, Walt Disney World’s third park is worth a visit as well this Christmas season! From Nov. 8, 2018 until Jan. 6, 2019, guests of Disney’s Hollywood Studios can experience a different kind of holiday cheer in the park nightly with Flurry of Fun. Between the festive projections on the Hollywood Tower Hotel for Sunset Seasons Greetings and the excitement of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM, there is lots of holiday cheer to be had in Disney’s Hollywood Studios after the sun goes down! Even the park’s newest land, Toy Story Land, has undergone a holiday transformation. Be sure to stop by and see how the toys like to decorate Andy’s Backyard! Finish off the night with fun holiday treats and snowfall on Sunset Boulevard.

Life-Size Gingerbread Displays Around the Disney Resorts

There’s no better time to explore Walt Disney World outside of its theme parks than during the holiday season. Spending time resort-hopping around property is a fun way to see how Disney decorates each hotel in its own unique way! Some of the resorts feature life-size gingerbread displays that you won’t want to miss. Disney’s Grand Floridian is celebrating 20 years of building their life-size gingerbread house – complete with a sweets shop inside! Other gingerbread-inspired displays can be found at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Make time to see them all for yourself while visiting this season!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

The biggest holiday celebration of them all this season can be found in Magic Kingdom! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticket event that happens on select nights from Nov. 8, 2018 until Dec. 22, 2018. Guests can enjoy their fill of complimentary cookies and cocoa along with other party-exclusive treats, watch Queen Elsa illuminate Cinderella Castle with over 200,000 LED lights during the Holiday Wishes Fireworks show, and experience snow on Main Street U.S.A. Since this is a special ticket event, you can expect shorter lines for attractions and unique character meet and greets, too. Be sure to finish off the night by watching the festive Once Upon A Christmastime Parade featuring some of your favorite character and Santa himself.

Festival of the Holidays at Epcot

Epcot is a great spot to visit this holiday season! From the iconic Candlelight Processional to learning about holiday cultures from around the world, there are so many activities to experience around the park for Christmas. One new experience that Epcot offers is their last festival of the year, Festival of the Holidays! Starting on Nov. 18, guests can venture around the World Showcase enjoying festive tastes from around the globe at 15 Holiday Kitchens. From holiday feasts to delicious treats, these kitchens will have something festive and tasty for everyone in your family. While traveling around World Showcase, be sure to grab Chip and Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree Scavenger Hunt for some extra family fun!

Christmas Tree Trail Around Disney Springs

Disney Springs is the place to be for all the Disney-inspired trees your holiday heart could desire! With 27 different trees each themed around a different movie, character or attraction, there is so much to see along this Christmas Tree Trail. From Nov. 8, 2018 until Jan. 6, 2019, guests can take part in the fun Disney Springs holiday tradition. The trail can be found near the play fountain outside of Once Upon A Toy in the Disney Springs Marketplace! Enjoy festive music, falling snow and gorgeous tree details as you walk along the trail. Guests participating in Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt will want to pay extra attention to the Mickey and Minnie themed tree – it may contain an important clue!
