Disney Tips

Four Reasons That Adult Only Disney Trips Rock

As one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, it’s no wonder that families bring their kids to Disney! Between the characters, rides, and magic there is so much for kids to enjoy. Well what about adult-only Disney trips? Despite popular belief that Disney is only for kids, there’s actually lots of perks to visiting Disney as an adult!

Schedule Flexibility

Looking to do an early day at the parks? Go for it! Planning to sleep in and go after dark? You do you! On an adult only trip in Disney you’ve got tons of flexibility. Have pool days galore or park hop till you drop! Without kids or a heavily scheduled day, how you spend your time is up to you. Some of my favorite trips to Disney have been those with little to no planning for day to day activities! It allows for spontaneous magic to occur in the parks like the good old days.

Ride What You Want

If you’ve ever been to Disney you know that most of the big thrills come with height requirements. As an adult, this is no concern for you! Also, you can enjoy the luxury of riding rides all together! If someone in your party is too young to ride, adults will often do a Tot Swap which allows one adult to hang back while the other rides. While it’s great that Disney has the option for parents with small children, it’s always more fun to ride things together as a group! An adult only trip means that you can ride everything you want, and skip everything you don’t!

All The Activities

There’s more to Disney than just rides and attractions. With tours, spas, golf, and shopping you’ve definitely got a lot to do while visiting the resort! Whether you’re looking to relax with a spa day, hit a few at one of their golf courses, or shop until your drop at Disney Springs, there’s something for everyone! The older I get, the more tours I want to take around the parks. Another way that Disney caters to adults is through events! In Epcot, there are festivals throughout the year offering food and alcohol tastings from around the world. If you haven’t done Flower and Garden Festival or Food and Wine Festival as an adult, it should definitely be on your list!

Drinking in Disney

Most would limit this to “Drinking Around The World” which is what usually comes to mind when you think of Walt Disney World as an adult, but there is so much more! Each park offers it’s own alcoholic drink choices for guests 21 and older. I usually find a new drink to try every time I go! When you’re visiting Disney, take the time to look at the menus. You’re sure to find an adult beverage to your liking!

With so many adult things to do on property, it’s not surprising that Walt Disney World continues to climb the charts as one of the top Honeymoon destinations! Don’t let Disney myths make you miss out on a great adult vacation spot. If you’re looking for a fun and exciting vacation with some of your friends or your significant other, spring for the Disney trip! You’ll be amazed how much fun it can be!

I haven’t been to a Disney park yet, but my husband and I have done Universal Studios in Florida and all of these are so true. We don’t have kids yet and don’t plan to for a few years and it’s so nice! I love that we can go to these big parks when kids are in school (slightly less busy), we can do whatever the heck we want and not worry about little kids being to tired or fussy (I personally like being at the park from the moment it opens until it’s closed), and we can eat and drink what we want. So much freedom! Makes me not want kids lol.

There are so many things that as an adult I want to do that I did as a kid, but now that I have kids I’m wanting to do it once with them, and once without them! I’d LOVE to go on a tour of Disney!

I definitely think riding without kids is a huge perk! I have a 4 year old sister and I took her to a waterpark this summer without realizing I would have to stay back and wait with her on basically every ride. She still had a great time but an adult only trip would offer different perks for me haha!

I totally feel this! It was so great when my brother was finally big enough to ride everything!
