Must Try Bites at Walt Disney World This Month
May is almost here! Yesterday I shared some new Star Wars offerings for May the Fourth, and today I’m dropping some other new bites and sips to look out for at Walt Disney World in May. From the resorts and the parks to Disney Springs and beyond, there’s a lot of new stuff to check out, so let’s get started!
New Breakfast Skillet
Whispering Canyon Cafe is know for its All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Skillets, and they’ve dropped a new breakfast skillet just for kids. The Kids’ All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Breakfast Skillet comes with a Mickey-shaped waffle and a Mickey-shaped scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage links, buttermilk cheddar biscuit, country potatoes, hickory-smoked baon, and sausage gravy! With Whispering Canyon Cafe on the Walt Disney World Mother’s Day Brunch list this year, this new skillet addition may just be the push you need to check it out this month.
You can check out Whispering Canyon Cafe’s breakfast menu here! Whispering Canyon Cafe is a table service restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner daily in the $15-$34.99 per adult price range.
New Shakes
There are two new ice cream treats shaking things up around Walt Disney World resort. One can be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the other at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Explosion Shake
Make your way down Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try this first shake. Hollywood Scoops is home to the Chocolate Peanut Butter Explosion Shake. This shake is made with chocolate ice cream and peanut butter sauce, topped with whipped cream, chocolate peanut butter crumbles, and a chocolate-dipped peanut butter cake.
Wildberry Shake
One of Walt Disney World’s top ice cram spots, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is where you’ll find the new Wildberry Shake. Enjoy a shake striped with pink and purple marshmallow and topped with whipped cream, three cake pops, and rainbow sprinkles around the rim. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is located at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort in the EPCOT Resort Area.
New Disney Springs Bites
Two new menu items are available at Disney’s Shopping and Dining District! One is savory and one is sweet, so let’s dive in.
Double Bacon Stack Burger
D-Luxe Burger is a Disney Springs staple, and their latest burger is for bacon lovers! The Double Bacon Stack Burger is made with two-pressed signature blend patties, bacon, lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomato, pickle, and grilled onions on their house-made Parker House roll.
Orange Cream Slushy
Marketplace Snacks is your Disney Springs stop to find Dole Whip and other frozen treats. This new offering is made with orange slushy and creamy vanilla soft-serve on top. If you prefer Citrus Swirl to Dole Whips, this may be your new go-to treat at Disney’s Shopping and Dining District!
EPCOT Festival Features
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom at Walt Disney World resort. From now until July 5, 2021 enjoy colorful topiaries, fresh food offerings, and memorable experiences you’ll only find at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. EPCOT Farmers Feast
In World Showplace, you’ll find EPCOT Farmers Feast. One offering worth trying according is Disney Parks Blog is their herb-crusted spring lamb with marble potatoes, red wine-butter sauce, and spring vegetables.
Fleur de Lys
The France pavilion is located near the International Gateway, and that’s where you’ll find this next sweet festival treat. Enjoy caramelized beignets filled with vanilla cream and glazed with caramel fleur de sel from Fleur de Lys.
Northern Bloom
Near the Canada pavilion in World Showcase, you’ll find Northern Bloom! One of their featured festival offerings is griddled maple pound cake with sweet corn gelato and warm peach compote.
Taste of Marrakesh
If you enjoy Moroccan cuisine, you’ll want to try this festival favorite from Taste of Marrakesh. Enjoy Moroccan seafood couscous with mussels, shrimp, olives, preserved lemons, and anchovy breadcrumbs. Taste of Marrakesh is located near the Morocco pavilion in World Showcase.
New Bread Pudding
Disney goers love bread pudding — especially from ‘Ohana! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has a Bread Pudding of their own worth trying. This Pineapple-Coconut Bread Pudding is topped with caramel sauce and ice cream. Find it at the Banana Cabana Pool Bar at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
New Gelato Location
In addition to their Flower & Garden Festival fun, EPCOT will be offering a new gelato location in World Showcase. In May Gelateria Toscana opens in the Italy pavilion! This location will be a walk-window serving floats, waffle cones, cannolis, and more.
Here’s a peek into some of the offerings to look forward to from Gelateria Toscana:
- “Affogato” Espresso Gelato – Fresh Italian espresso poured over Fior di Latte gelato with an amaretto cookie
- Cannoli al Cioccolato – Crisp pastry filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate, and candied orange
- Coppa Amicizia – Fior di Latte, cookies ‘n cream, and strawberry gelati with whipped cream
- Coppa Delizia – Fior di Latte, strawberry, and cookies ‘n cream gelati with strawberry sauce and whipped cream
- Coppa del Nonno – Fior di Latte, chocolate, and cookies ‘n cream gelati with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and amaretti cookies
- Gelati Floats – Fior di Latte gelato with your choice of root beer or Coca-Cola
- Gelati in a Waffle Cone or Cup – Chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, cookies ‘cream, stracciatella, strawberry, or tiramisù
- Mocha Tiramisù – Mascarpone cream, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits, and chocolate
- Sorbetti in a Waffle Cone or Cup – Lemon, raspberry, mixed berry, or mango
- Zeppole – Soft fried Ricotta cheese fritters dusted with powdered sugar
Specialty non-alcoholic beverages along with cocktails, beer, and wine are also available.
