Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary Enhancements Continue With Sweet New Details

Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021, and kicks things off with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” While there will be exciting offerings all across the property, some of the bigger updates are happening in the park that started it all — Magic Kingdom!

Cinderella Castle’s decorations are already going up, and according to Disney Parks Blog more enhancements are coming to Main Street U.S.A. and some Fantasyland attractions. Since the theme for a 50th anniversary is a golden anniversary, it’s no surprise that so much gold leaf has been popping up around the Magic Kingdom.

Main Street U.S.A. Refurbishments

Main Street Confectionery

Both Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau are set to close for refurbishment around March 29, 2021. According to Laurel Slater of Disney Parks Blog, these renovations will expand the layout of the Main Street Confectionery — giving more room for shopping, treats, and interactive opportunities.

With these refurbishments, sweets and other Disney merchandise and goodies will be shifting to other places throughout Magic Kingdom. Most Main Street Confectionery treats can be found in the Emporium and Main Street Cinema during this time. As for Disney hats, Mickey Mouse ears, and other gifts normally found at The Chateau, you can head over to the Town Square Theater or Box Office Gifts. Any collectibles and artwork will be moved to Bonjour! Village Gifts.

Fantasyland Flair

The EARidescent decor doesn’t stop with Cinderella Castle! Disney Parks Blog teased that some of your favorite Fantasyland attractions will also receive the royal treatment. From shimmering gold leaf to fresh paint, Magic Kingdom‘s cast members have been doing their part to make the Most Magical Place on Earth shine like never before!

The countdown to The World’s Most Magical Celebration continues, and I can’t wait to see what’s announced next. Experiencing Walt Disney World for its 50th anniversary has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, so I can’t believe it’s almost here!
