New Holiday Magic Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom This Year

Summer hasn’t even begun, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas time at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Each of Walt Disney World’s four theme parks go all out for the holidays. From decor to trees to holiday overlays, visiting the parks during the holiday season is a whole different kind of magic!

Disney Parks Blog announced some pretty exciting new additions coming to my-fastpass-picks-animal-kingdom this holiday season. The magic of the holiday will meet the magic of nature in a special way! In fact, festive new entertainment and holiday decor will be present in every land of the park this year.

Discovery Island

As you enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll find yourself in Discovery Island. This land will be decked out in colorful animal-inspired luminaries on the rooftops and life-size winter animal sculpted puppets! Some animals you’ll find will include reindeer, polar bears, foxes, and penguins that will interact with the guests in a playful, festive atmosphere. Once the sun goes down, the Tree of Life will awaken! Displaying a series of wintry tales along with a holiday-inspired musical score. The rooftop luminaries will also start to glow, creating a festive glow throughout Discovery Island!

Dinoland U.S.A.

Donald Duck and his friends will be doing the decorating this holiday season in Dinoland U.S.A. to coordinate with Donald’s Dino-Bash! In addition to these festive feels, guests are welcome to make their way towards the Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party. Chip ‘n’ Dale will be hosting the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party complete with interactive fun and games!

Asia

The celebration of Diwali will take center stage in the Asia area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom this year. The residents of Anandapur have decorated their theater district for the holiday festival of lights! Authentic cultural performances will take place on the waterfront stage in celebration of Diwali. There will also be glowing lanterns and flowers illuminating the area between the waterfront stage and the Anandapur Theater.

Africa

The village of Harambe will be merry and bright this holiday season! The daily performances will be enhanced in a festive way thanks to new costumes and music selections. The holiday fun doesn’t stop in the village though. Guests who make reservations at Tusker House during the holiday season will experience Mickey and his friends spreading holiday cheer throughout the whole meal!

Pandora

The holiday spirit reaches far and wide this year — all the way to the World of Avatar. The ex-pats living and working in Pandora have decided to spread some holiday cheer this year, with its own unique holiday decor. Featuring vintage holiday pieces from Earth and other items handcrafted from materials found in Pandora, this holiday display is sure to be out of this world!
