25 years ago, Disney’s The Lion King premiered in theaters, and became a classic film for Disney fans of all ages. To celebrate this iconic anniversary year, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is offering a brand-new photo spot at the entrance of the park.

The photo spot resembles a giant wooden photo frame, complete with colorful carvings of some of your favorite movie moments. From Rafiki lifting Baby Simba on Pride Rock to a scowling Scar and friendly Timon and Pumbaa, the details on this fun new photo spot are stunning.

This new photo spot is just the beginning of the park-wide celebration of The Lion King this year. In addition to this brand new PhotoPass spot, Disney as also added a second “Hakuna Matata”-inspired photo spot just past the Island Mercantile near Tiffins Restaurant and on your way to Pandora: The World of Avatar. Much like the photo spot at the park’s entrance, this Hakuna Matata photo spot will have a PhotoPass Photographer waiting to take plenty of wild shots for you!

Speaking of Hakuna Matata, if you can’t get enough of The Lion King’s soundtrack, you’re in luck! The Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party has officially kicked off at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This grooving jungle dance party is hosted by Rafiki and Timon, and takes place daily from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In addition to The Festival of the Lion King – already a park favorite – one more feature inspired by the classic Disney film is set to make its way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting on Memorial Day. To add some nighttime magic, the Tree of Life Awakenings will celebrate The Lion King by featuring iconic music and animations from the 1994 feature film.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the place to be for all things wild and adventurous, so it only makes sense that The Lion King will reign over the park to celebrate its 25th anniversary!
