Disney Eats: Olivia’s Cafe
Don’t you just love when life throws an extra Disney day your way? That’s what happened to my family and I this past weekend during Tropical Storm Alberto. Since we would be traveling directly through the weather on our way back to Louisiana, we opted to stay one more day which led the the most low key Disney day I’ve ever had!
If you’re like me you always “plan” to be low key on your Disney trip, but when it comes down to it that task can be kind of impossible. With all the attractions, shows, food, and shopping it can be tough to find time to do anything but sleep! Without another park day ticket for my mom and brother we opted to a little shopping and then planned on going out to eat afterwards.
Unsure of restaurant to choose we looked on the app for open reservations and stumbled upon Olivia’s Cafe! I’ve always heard great things about this place from my friends who have gone before so I was excited to check it out for myself.
Olivia’s Cafe is a table service restaurant serving delicious home cooked food with a Florida Keys twist! It’s located at Disney’s Old Key West resort, which has definitely been added to my Disney Resorts bucket list because the hotel is absolutely gorgeous!
One thing I loved when we first walked into the restaurant was their Family Album showcasing their Disney Vacation Club members around the restaurant. I really enjoyed checking out all of the different family Disney trip photos throughout the years! It added a very welcoming vibe as we made our way into the dining room.
Since this was our first visit, we were excited to hear about the specials and take a look at the menu while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere! Our family was meant to visit Olivia’s that day because their special was Pot Roast, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans. And when it comes to Disney’s Pot Roast, I never skip it!
The Pot Roast was delicious so I’m glad we were able to experience it since it isn’t currently on their menu. It was the perfect comfort food for us on our surprise extra day at Walt Disney World!
My friend Josie chose to venture out from the Pot Roast and Mashed Potatoes and tried the Duval Street Burger! This burger is topped with Grilled Shrimp, Pepper Jack Cheese, Avocado, and Pico de Gallo on their Pineapple-Coconut Roll. She loved it! Definitely an island twist on a classic burger.
After enjoying our lunch we dove into a few of Olivia’s Cafe’s delicious desserts! We tried the Mascarpone Cheesecake with Strawberries, the Banana Bread Pudding Sundae that’s served warm with Banana’s Foster topping and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake with fresh Seasonal Fruit and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
It was fun to all sample all three desserts together! My personal favorite was the Mascarpone Cheesecake.

Part of what makes the Walt Disney World property so great is how many fun activities there are to explore outside of the four theme parks. As an avid Disney parks goer it was nice to explore areas of this resort that I don’t normally get to see for once. It opened my eyes to what a more relaxing Disney day could be and I’m hoping to experience more of those days on future trips!
What’s one Disney restaurant you’d love to try soon?
