Parade Ready with Perlis
It’s Carnival Time! There’s no better time to be in Louisiana than for the Carnival season. Mardi Gras is still two weeks away, but the parades are already rolling! The krewes, the king cakes, and the colors are like no other.
To make the most of your Mardi Gras experience, I’ve got some tips to help you dress the part!
Comfort Is Key
Mardi Gras is an all day affair, so you’ll want to feel comfortable in whatever you’re wearing. The last thing you want is to be stuck on the parade route wishing you had worn something else! Just because you’re going for comfort doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. I paired this Mardi Gras rugby dress with some white canvas sneakers for a casual but cute look! If you’re having doubts about your shoe of choice, bring a back up pair. You’ll be glad you did!
Prepare For Anything
Weather is extremely unpredictable in Louisiana, especially during this time of the year! Don’t be caught unprepared. Check on the weather regularly and try to pack for any scenario! No matter the weather this rugby dress can work in any situation. The long sleeves are perfect for a chillier day, but still leave you with the option to roll them up once things start to warm up! Rainy weather? No problem! Just throw on a rain jacket and you’re good to go.
Dress For The Party
Purple, green, and gold are always in style for Mardi Gras! Find a look that matches the carnival season. You can never go wrong with the home of the original Mardi Gras rugby! Perlis offers a number of Mardi Gras outfit options that will show off your Louisiana pride. With so many Mardi Gras looks, you’ll be sure to catch some attention on the parade route. This year I’m going with the striped rugby dress because I just love the classic Mardi Gras colors!

February 14, 2017 at 11:07 amI love mardi gras! It’s so fun and I love seeing all the costumes and parades from New Orleans, not to mention how beautiful New Orleans itself is. I remember when I took french in high school, we made a king cake for mardi gras and it was sooo freaking delicious!
