Peace, Love, and Flower Power
When Paris and I planned our recent girls trip to Walt Disney World, we knew we would be stopping by Disney’s Art of Animation hotel! It wasn’t the hotel we were staying in, but a little resort hopping never hurt anybody. I’ve never had a chance to see the hotel yet so I was excited to explore!
Art of Animation has got amazing theming through out and one major part is devoted to movie Cars. Imagine being able to see life-size versions of some of your favorite Pixar characters! Let’s just say I was a little inspired to Disneybound, but who would I choose to channel?
Off of Route 66 in the town of Radiator Springs, there’s a far out 1960’s Volkswagen named Fillmore! He’s all about organic fuel and keeping the peace. I love his easy going attitude and how he sports such bright colors! Not to mention he knows how to accessorize. Just check out the total hippie aesthetic he’s got going on with all those bumper stickers!
I fell in love with this outfit the moment I saw it in a local boutique. The last time I wore it was for my engagement photo session, but I thought the mint green color channeled Fillmore perfectly! The white floral overlay reminded me of the flower power vibes on his wheels and doors.
I paired my romper with gold cat eye glasses (you can find similar ones here) and some white, comfy sneakers. To accessorize I’m sporting my favorite gold castle necklace from the Disney Parks and a rose gold bangle from Lillian & Co. Use code “KAIT10” at checkout for a magical discount!
Like everything else that Disney does, these life-size characters spare no details. Just check out all of the vibrant bumper stickers all over Fillmore! Groovy vibes only.
I’ve only had a chance experience Carsland in Disney’s California Adventure once, so seeing this life-size version of Radiator Springs at Art of Animation definitely took me back! If only Walt Disney World could get a Carsland of its own. I guess for now Art of Animation will have to do! This resort is officially on my list of places to stay for a future vacation.
Disneybounding as Fillmore was such a blast! I loved channeling a character that’s not necessarily to the star of the show but memorable in his own right. Plus he was rocking mint green before it was cool and I think that’s pretty great!
Which Disney character would you love to dress as?
