Your State’s Favorite Disney Princess

It’s crazy to think that it’s already been a week since the release of Disney’s newest animated film Ralph Breaks The Internet! This Thanksgiving release is sequel to Wreck it Ralph and well before it hit theaters its teaser trailer featuring a group of Disney royals had us immediately wanting more. There’s just something about seeing all the Disney princesses together, amiright?

In celebration of the movie debut in theaters and surprise appearance of our favorite Disney royals, cabletv.com researched Google Trends to discover which Disney princess was favorite in each state and of course which royal rules them all! A list was made of the sixteen most popular Disney princesses and heroines and then run through Google Trends to see which got the most traction over the past year.

You may notice that only fifteen princesses and heroines appear in the graphic above, and that is because the sixteenth princess Moana didn’t make the top search result in any state. I was honestly shocked that she didn’t make the cut. America, we need to get our princess priorities straight!

As for the other fifteen, lets see how they ranked across America…

Based on the map provided above, Queen Elsa is fairest of them all! Along with her sister Anna, the Frozen fam dominates over half of the United States. Considering this movie became a cultural phenomenon, its no surprise that the ice queen herself is top royal!

Although a Frozen cold front seems to have covered this United States map, lets take a deeper look into some key takeaways across a few of the other states:

My home state Louisiana is all about the NOLA princess herself, Tiana! Since The Princess and the Frog is set in our iconic city of New Orleans, I’m not surprised by this result at all.

As for the sunshine state, Ariel of The Little Mermaid was their top princess. Considering Florida spans over 650 miles of beach, this princess does seem pretty on brand!

Wyoming is a large part of America’s bear country, which makes their favorite princess Merida seem so fitting!

Both Nevada and Arizona are states that boast vast deserts, similar to the setting of Disney’s Aladdin. Jasmine appears to be top princess in both of these states!

One state that never seems to choose just one favorite is Utah. This time they have a five-way tie for favorite princess! Not sure what it is about the Beehive State, but when it came to favorite Pixar movie and favorite Disney classic, they couldn’t choose just one either.

Check out cabletv.com’s article for the full report on this project!

As a lifelong Disney lover, I enjoy seeing all of the Disney princesses across the map. Each princess is an important part of Disney history so it’s interesting to see how each royal impacts Google Trends around the country! I think its pretty safe to say we’ve all spent some time defending our favorite princess at least once in our lives.
