Three Table Service Restaurants Set To Reopen at Walt Disney World

There’s always something new to look forward to Walt Disney World resort, and this week it’s three restaurant reopenings! Today Disney Parks Blog announced that three Walt Disney World favorites will be reopening soon.

Before we know it, we can add three new table service spots back to our dining reservation list! All three locations were buffet-style character meals pre-COVID and have since updated their experiences for this new reopening. Get ready to experience Chef Mickey’s, Cape May Café, and Tusker House restaurant all over again!

Chef Mickey’s

Our first restaurant reopening is at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Although Chef Mickey’s has been open for breakfast, starting May 16, 2021, Chef Mickey’s will be offering dinner as well. This all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style dinner will include distanced “no touch” appearances from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck. Guests will also receive a special souvenir with colorful artwork and character signatures to take home after their meal.

The new dinner menu will feature assorted bread, citrus-poached shrimp salad, and “Chef Mickey’s Caesar” as starters. Main courses include roasted garlic potato gratin, prime rib, salmon, gnocchi, roasted turkey, and plant-based far wheat fried rice. For the kiddos in your party, Chef Mickey’s has favorites like turkey corn dog nuggets, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and more. Finish the meal off with an array of sweets! View Chef Mickey’s menu here.

Next, we’ve got a Disney’s Beach Club Resort favorite, Cape May Café. Starting May 18, 2021, this restaurant will reopen for breakfast and dinner. Although Minnie’s Beach Bash Character Breakfast and the Seafood-and-More Dinner Buffet won’t be returning for this reopening, there’s still plenty to look forward to on this updated all-you-care-to-enjoy menu.

Cape May Café’s breakfast menu includes assorted house-made pastries, yogurt parfaits, mixed fresh fruits, and a hearty breakfast platter. For dinner, guests can enjoy the Turf Platter complete with slow-roasted strip loin, mashed potatoes, and pepper chicken, or the Seafood Boil with Cape May clams, corn, shrimp, and more. View Cape May Café’s menu here.

Tusker House Restaurant

Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park

Our last restaurant reopening is happening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer. Although a reopening date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s exciting to know that this guest-favorite character dining experience will be opening again soon. Upon reopening, guests will take part in a safe and modified character experience, snapping photos with Donald Duck and his friends from afar!

As Disney Parks Blog shares updates on Tusker House Restaurant, I’ll be sure to make updates here as well. For now, let’s just celebrate these new table service offerings rejoining the dining lineup at Walt Disney World!

Which location are you planning to visit again soon?
