You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile
Last weekend was my first ever fall Dapper Day and I spent the day smiling from ear to ear! While this was not my first Dapper Day ever, (you can read about that experience here) this was my first year participating in this iconic event so it was pretty exciting to say the least!
During Dapper Day, guests step out in style showing off their best Disney-inspired vintage looks. Considering this special weekend was also Mickey and Minnie‘s 90th birthday, I knew I had the perfect idea for my outfit! Vintage Minnie’s style has always been my favorite, so as I found the pieces to make this look happen, I couldn’t help but get excited.
From the bright blue polka dot skirt to that iconic little daisy, this look just screams the fun and simplicity of Walt’s original cartoons starring Mickey and Minnie! This look found the perfect home in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus — one of my favorite themed areas in Walt Disney World.
This dapper look fit right in with the era of this land, and I was so happy getting to spend some time exploring on that day. One special detail in this area is the various animal carts that can be found within the children’s play area. Each cart is numbered, and like everything at Disney nothing is random! These numbers are dates of anniversaries for the various Walt Disney World parks. This cart featuring the “82” dates back to Epcot’s opening all of those years ago!
While spending some time in this area, Paris and I couldn’t help but noticed that this cart had a blue polka dot window. I know we can’t be the only ones who are getting some serious Vintage Minnie vibes here, right? The fact that “82” reversed is “28” or the year Mickey and Minnie came to be seems like an extra special hidden Easter egg too!
If you haven’t had the chance to experience Dapper Day for yourself, you should definitely add this to your Disney bucket list! It’s such a fun experience getting to meet so many Disney fans from all over, showing off their creativity while honoring so many beloved Disney characters, movies and attractions. Spring 2019 Dapper Days have already been established, so mark your calendar and get ready to step out in style!
